Lushapew was founded in the spring of 2024 with a simple yet meaningful idea: to create shirts that are not just worn, but that tell the story of fatherhood—of the strength, wisdom, and love that have helped shape who you are today. The inspiration came from conversations with fathers, from short but profound pieces of advice, to moments of overcoming challenges together. Lushapew seeks to preserve those memories and values, embedding them into every product so you can wear them proudly every day.

Lushapew operates under a direct-to-customer model through its official website, without intermediaries. This approach allows Lushapew to maintain strict quality control, keep prices fair, and respond flexibly to each order. All products are made in a small, 18 m² workshop located at 303 Aviation Pl, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266, equipped with two Juki industrial sewing machines, one Epson SureColor digital printer, and a neatly organized storage area right next to the production space. Every step—from sourcing fabric, cutting, sewing, printing, and quality checking, to packing—is done entirely by hand by the brand’s four dedicated team members.

Main Products – T-Shirts & Sweatshirts

The Built Like Dad collection focuses on two core product lines. The first is a cotton-blend T-shirt, with about 50% cotton and a fabric weight ranging from 190 to 200 GSM—thick enough to hold its shape yet light and breathable enough for all-day wear. Before being used, the cotton is treated to reduce shrinkage and pilling, ensuring the shirt retains its fit and color even after multiple washes.

The second is a brushed fleece sweatshirt weighing between 300 and 320 GSM—warm yet breathable, perfect for cooler days. Designs are updated regularly to reflect current trends, while maintaining a simple, masculine, and versatile silhouette. Before mass production, each design is prototyped, test-printed, and washed to ensure the color, shape, and durability meet Lushapew’s standards.

In addition to ready-made products, Lushapew also offers custom orders—from personalized prints to design adjustments, and even tailoring to individual measurements. This service allows customers to create one-of-a-kind pieces, whether it’s printing a father’s quote, a family photo, or a design with a special personal meaning.

Production Process & Quality Control – Crafted with Care

At Lushapew, every shirt begins with the selection of materials. Cotton blends are sourced from Robert Kaufman Fabrics, a trusted U.S. supplier known for soft, evenly dyed cotton that holds its shape after repeated washes. Brushed fleece comes from Monterey Mills, a specialist in thick yet breathable fleece that provides warmth without being heavy. Choosing long-established, reputable suppliers ensures consistent quality and compliance with safety and durability standards.

When fabrics arrive at the workshop, Lushapew measures their GSM using a precision scale, compares color against approved samples, and performs wash tests to check shrinkage and colorfastness. Only batches that pass these tests move into production.

Cutting and sewing are done on Juki industrial sewing machines, using fine yet strong polyester thread to ensure durable seams without bulk. Stress points such as shoulders, underarms, and hems are reinforced to maintain shape over time. Printing is done on an Epson SureColor digital printer using direct-to-garment (DTG) technology for vibrant, crisp, and long-lasting designs. After printing, each shirt is heat-pressed to lock in the colors, preventing peeling or premature fading.

Before leaving the workshop, each product undergoes a manual inspection: loose threads are trimmed, measurements are checked against the standard size chart, and printed designs are compared to the original digital file for accuracy. If any defects are found, Lushapew offers either a replacement or a refund, based on the customer’s preference.

Shipping & Order Tracking

Once approved, products are carefully packed in protective packaging and shipped via USPS, UPS, or FedEx, depending on the destination and delivery speed required. Standard delivery time within the U.S. is five to six business days. Every order comes with a tracking number sent via email, allowing customers to follow their shipment’s journey in real time.

Lushapew’s team currently consists of four members, each wearing multiple hats to ensure every step is handled quickly and precisely. One member focuses on design and printing, two handle cutting and sewing, and one is in charge of quality control and customer service. For rush orders, the entire team works like a compact production line—cutting, sewing, printing, checking, packing, and dispatching—so that orders are delivered on time without compromising quality.
